Seriously, look how much bigger that phone is!
My iPhone fits inside the screen!!
So, after much deliberation, discussions with my daughter and research I decided to change our provider and phone. So grateful Kelly is able to get a 13% discount on data plan and 25% discount on accessories at Verizon through her employer. So...she hooked us up with a plan and I hooked us up with new phones. Galaxy 4S for $1.00 each. After buying the kids their $50 (facepalm) each cases I gleefully said Happy Easter, now get lost. Just kidding about the get lost, that's unspoken.
So, let's recap...3 Samsung Galaxy 4S smartphones, 3 geek squad monthly memberships, 3 sodas, 3 cases (of course mine was 9.99 on clearance cuz that's how I roll) and I go home spending just over $100.00.
I feel like I won the lottery. Only problem...my old carrier hasn't ported my number over yet so I can call out and text on my new phone, but, cannot receive any calls. The kids have their own problems, but, honestly, I just don't care. Kelly had to get a new number, no biggie, but, they put her new number on Cam's phone and Cam's number on her phone. Ahhh the problems of the youth today. Like I said, not my problem, just don't care. They decided to stick it out this way since Cam only has a few friends who have his # and Kelly had already texted half of the general population of the US with this number, including her boyfriend, who upon reading "hey baby this is my new #" responded "who is this?" Not the response I'd want but they are good with it.
Since I basically have a screen the size of my first TV I'm getting back in to some old apps like Twitter. This could be bad or knowing me I'll just get bored and ignore it again. I'm bummed that a few of my favorite game apps on my phone are only for the Apple devices (Lucas' iPad anyone), but, I'm sure I'll manage to find a few android apps to fill my longing.
So, now the entire family has the EXACT same phone but in different colors, except Glenn and Kelly. First thing my kids said when they realized it was "sweet, now we can have youtube battles with Daddy on the SmartTV." I'm glad I spend most of my time downstairs watching TV and nobody wants my boring old non-wifi TV. Except....Glenn found an app where he can change the channel on my TV in bed without digging for the remote. Excuse me.....MY TV!!!! I hide that remote for a reason.
So, I anticipate the next few weeks will be spent setting up a phone and downloading apps so that I can go back to my minimal phone usage (camera, books, bingo, facebook and oh yeah telephone/texting). If I happen to disappear for a few days at at time, have no fear, I'll get stupid again and be back to just facebooking on the computer again very quickly.
